How Bad Is Comic Sans Font?

In a recent thread over on Reddit, users have been engaged in a debate over the Comic Sans font.

Comic Sans has received a lot of criticism over the years for being informal, hard to read, or just plain lame.

So, just how bad is Comic Sans?

Well, take a look at the opening line of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address:

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Not bad, right?  That Lincoln dude certainly had a way with words.

Now, look at that same sentence written in Comic Sans:

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See how it suddenly looks like Lincoln was shot in the head BEFORE he gave this speech?

That might have flown if Abraham Lincoln was in charge of running a LiveJournal, but no, he had to run our country through the goddamn Civil War!

So, basically, using Comic Sans is an affront to everything America stands for.
