What Happened to the Phone Call?
I'm as sick of the "look-at-this-funny-Facebook-screengrab" Internet trend as the next guy. I'm sure half of them are as fabricated as a Google suggestion screengrab.
But I think the one above is real… and here's why…
Uncle Bernie hated bad grammar, was a stickler for poor spelling. A former editor at the Daily Herald — suburban Chicago's largest daily newspaper — the English language was his passion.
He'd recently decided to check out Facebook for the first time, specifically to see pictures he'd heard his niece had posted on the Internet of their recent trip to Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois. It had been a delightful trip. They'd ridden the coasters together.
Upon seeing the phrase "time for yoggggggga." with no capitalization and 7 "g's," he collapsed: dead of a heart-attack.
Which is why it makes perfect sense for this person's mom to leave this information as a reply to that particular status update.
Obviously.
