Using Google Maps to Look at Bizarre Canadian Street Signs

A Redditor recently wanted to show fellow users of the social news site what strange street signs they have in Canada.

Ha.  They are kind of bizarre: On their "deer crossing" signs they have pictures of elephants.  (Supposedly, drivers are so used to seeing the image of a deer that it was hoped the elephant image would help grab people's attention.)

But what's even more bizarre is how this Reddit user chose to share the image shown above.  He linked to Google Maps Street View where the sign is clearly visible.

Why take pictures of the world anymore?  Google has already done it for you.

Maybe this concept will open up a whole new sub-genre of scavenger hunts?  Hunting without leaving the comfort of your own home.

Either way, it's nice not to have to carry my camera around anymore.
