Facebook Is For The Rich

Does how much money you make determine which social network you use?  Neilsen happens to think it may play a part.  For some reason, they spent time and money researching who's on which social network, and found that more affluent people (richie richies) wind up on sites like Facebook and Linkedin, while less affulent people (poor brokies) end up on sites like MySpace.

They asked 26 year old Anna Owens, who said:

"MySpace has one population, Facebook has another.  Blue-collar, part-time workers might like the appeal of MySpace more — it definitely depends on who you meet and what they use; that's what motivates people to join and stay interested."

Blue collar, part time Anna?  Wow, that's pretty unexplained, flawed reasoning.

I find the whole study pretty pointless and stupid, but if you want to see the stats yourself, click here.

I did my own study and asked 1 person (me) what I thought of the connection between your income and social networking site.  Here are my results:

People, rich or poor, don't go on MySpace because it sucks.

I'm going to say my study trumps all.  Have a good day.
