This is Your Last Chance to Make Fun of the XFL Until 2099
Remember the XFL? Wrestling magnate Vince McMahon's failed professional football league?
Of course you do, because it was one of the biggest flops ever.
The thing is, you can't just bring up the XFL on random occasions. You need a good reason to make an XFL joke.
Well, the time is nigh.
I've seen the XFL mentioned in a number of "Worst of the Decade" type lists. 11Points.com called it one of the "11 Most Disappointing TV Shows of the 2000s." It made #1 on Joe Sports Fan's "Top 7 Worst sports ideas of the decade." And I'm sure there would be more if I felt like doing research.
But here's the moral: Get in on making fun of the XFL now, because you won't get a chance again until your "Worst Ideas of the Century" list in 2099.
That's 90 years from now, which is a long, long time to wait say, "Opening scrambles?! What were they thinking?!?"
