Was 'Pants on the Ground' a Ripoff?

We got beef!

As reported by the New York Daily News (Don't reporters have better things to be doing with their time?):

"The Green Brothers of Highland Park, Michigan, wrote to MyFoxDetroit.com claiming that their 1996 recording 'Back Pockets On The Floor' has the same 'intent, idea and message' as Platt's 'Pants.' "

You can check out The Green Brothers version of the song above and judge for yourself.  Obviously, they've posted it as a YouTube video to try and inch in on the phenomenon's fame.  But here's my thought…

These "Green Brothers" look about as old and crazy as General Larry Platt who is credited with creating the "Pants on the Ground" craze.  If you gave credit to the idea of old men complaining about the fashion of today's youth, I think there are about a million men over the age of 50 with the same "intent, idea and message."

All these crazy old guys need to stop complaining and get off my lawn!
