This Changes Everything
Popular weblog Boing Boing pointed out on Sunday that carrots don't have to be orange! WTF!
As reported on by the BBC via a link on Wikipedia:
The orange colour we know is the result of Dutch cultivation in the 17th Century, when patriotic growers turned a vegetable which was then purple into the colour of the national flag.
Look, everyone. Stop. I'm 30 years old. I don't need my mind blown unless it's by LSD or from listening to Pink Floyd while really, really high.
Blogs aren't supposed to enlighten me. They are supposed to show funny animals or farting or funny animals farting. Maaaybe a web comic with a cliched punchline if they are really trying to mix things up.
Carrots are orange. Make that a blog. CarrotsAreOrange.com. (Apparently, it already is.) That's all I want to and need to know. My carrot ignorance was bliss and now it's a multicolored mess.
I'll tell where you can shove your purple carrots… Right back into the ground. Because I don't want to see 'em!
