Warning: You Can Run Out of Space in Gmail!
Mashable warned earlier today that a few big-time emailers are finally running out of space in their Gmail inbox:
"So much for, 'never delete an e-mail again.' When Gmail first launched in 2004, its massive storage space was a highly touted feature…. However, users…now send larger e-mail attachments and archive more messages."
I want to make sure Tosh.0 blog readers are prepared if their Gmail accounts ever get too full, so here is some advice on how to start cleaning out your inbox:
- Delete all emails discussing illegal activities. It's not a good idea keep emails to your bookie, mob contact and mistress available for other to read regardless …but especially if you're running out of space.
- Delete all emails with your grandmother. She's been dead for 4 years. Get over it.
- Delete all the terrible videos you have saved in your Outbox that you sent to Tosh.0. Most of them you don't even need to save. You realize you can watch Star Wars Kid on YouTube now, right?
- Delete all your Facebook notifications. You haven't even read them in your Facebook inbox. Stop wasting space on multiple sites!
- Delete all your listserv emails. You haven't even considered visiting that Nintendo 64 message board in a decade.
- Delete all emails between you and your ex-girlfriend. You'll find other ways to cry yourself to sleep at night.
Follow these steps and you won't ever have to worry about running out of space on your Gmail.
