Stephen Colbert's Congressional Testimony

Colbert testified before the Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, and Border Security discussing what it was like picking beans and packing corn in the unforgiving sun, "I have to say, and I do mean this sincerely, please don't make me do this again."

Apparently the House Judiciary Committee is a real tough crowd. Because his speech fell flat and only a few lines got quiet chuckles from the crowd.

Perhaps he should have borrowed Darrell Bluett's catchphrase for a more well-received argument: After working with these men and women, picking beans, packing corn for hours on end side-by-side in the unforgiving sun, I have to say, and I do mean this sincerely, ain't nothin' wrong with beans and cornbread.
