We're tired of boring, single-themed photo tumblr blogs that are all attempting to be the next big thing to hit the web, so we're calling them out in this week-long series called "Tumblr Weak."

BLOG: Upside Down Dogs aka upsidedowndogs.com and originally known as upsidedowndogs.tumblr.com before it got too cool for Tumblr.

PURPOSE: Collect cute pictures of upside down dogs.

DOES IT SERVE ITS PURPOSE?: Sort of. Put enough pictures of dogs on a blog and you're bound to have a few cute ones. Here's the problem: Many dogs are ugly as fuck. Not a solution: Mutating their faces with gravity.

WEAKNESS LEVEL: Are you kidding me? Upside Down Dogs? As if a dog turning upside down is some sort of rare occurrence. If I want to see a dog upside down all I have to do is find a dog. It's probably already upside down. Even poorly trained dogs do that stupid trick. That makes it a very weak Tumblr. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being dumb and 10 being dumber than my oxygen-deprived-at-birth Jack Russell, Upside Down Dogs gets a 6. That's pretty good considering that the average Tumblr is like a 9. Thanks for giving lonely people one more reason to take a million pictures of their dogs!

ESTABLISHED: January 2009

# OF POSTS: Lots

PURPOSE: This is complicated: to take pictures of people on the subway. That are sleeping.

DOES IT SERVE ITS PURPOSE? Sure.
But who gives a flying f about people sleeping on the subway? Take the amount of people that actually live in one of the few urban areas that even have subways, the number of people who ride them, the number of people who fall asleep on them, and then finally, the number of a-holes taking pics of those people and you can guarantee you've only got about five solid contributors to this blog. That's five people who care about this idiotic issue enough to keep publishing pictures of it. Get a life, five people.

WEAKNESS LEVEL: On a scale of 1-10, this site is 6. Some of the pictures are silly sleeping people so you may chuckle. But overall, it's WEAK. On the scale of 1-10, 1 is still stupid, so don't think I've forgiven this tumblr for wasting our time.

BLOG: Nice Shoes aka fuckyeahshoes.tumblr.com

PURPOSE: Display user-submitted images of shoes, presumably to share the world's hodgepodge of foot fashion.

DOES IT SERVE ITS PURPOSE?: No. Only hipsters submit their shoes thus over-saturating the blog with high-tops and neon laces.

WEAKNESS LEVEL: On a scale of 1-10, Nice Shoes gets a 9. "Nice Shoes" means nothing. The concept isn't funny, original, dramatic, cute, thought-provoking, shocking, informative, compelling or geeky. Nobody would follow this Tumblr unless they have a latent foot fetish, and even in that case, it's not "sexy" either.

BLOG: Sad Guys on Trading Floors aka sadguysontradingfloors.tumblr.com/

ESTABLISHED: October 2008

PURPOSE: Re-post pictures of unhappy Wall Street traders that you already see every day in newspapers and online. America should get a humorous post-modern look at the recession, putting a positive spin on our economic woes.

DOES IT SERVE ITS PURPOSE?: In October, Sad Guys had a strong 237 posts. In March: 30. In August: 4. I'm no stock broker, but Sad Guys on Trading Floors is showing an ironic trend. As the recession continues, Sad Guys provides less and less laughter, thus accelerating the very frowns they sought to undo.

WEAKNESS LEVEL: On a scale of 1-10, Sad Guys gets a 6. Your Tumblr consists of ripped-off Associated Press photos — hundreds of which come out each day, and most of which meet your only criteria. If you've given up on your blog then so have we.

Find some happy people on trading floors. Then I'll be impressed. Sad Guys on Trading Floors, your Tumblr is WEAK!

BLOG: Do Your Fucking Dishes aka doyourfuckingdishes.tumblr.com/

ESTABLISHED: August 2009

# OF POSTS: 22

PURPOSE: To take pictures of your roommates' dishes in order to tell them, as well as the world, to "fucking" do them.

DOES IT SERVE ITS PURPOSE? The likelihood of a person who doesn't do their dishes to delve deep enough into the pits of the Internet and see their dirty dishes in a sink on a crappy tumblr page and then actually do them is pretty low.  Unless the person posting the picture directs them to the blog, I'm going to say they're 100% not going to see it.  Passive aggressive fail.

WEAKNESS LEVEL: On a scale of 1-10, this site is a solid 9.  Looking at dishes isn't entertaining, funny, or informative — and it never will be.  If you're going to go to the trouble of posting them on some tumblr blog, just suck it up and do them yourself.  It's not that bad.
