Yes, Independence Day has passed, but watching people screw up our national anthem is timeless.  This bit is still as much of a halfhearted time-filler today as it was two years ago when we aired it!

The New York Police Department wants you to believe this video shows that "Bomb Squad technicians [on July 1st] destroyed approximately 5,000 pounds of confiscated fireworks at the NYPD firing range in the Bronx."

Right, NYPD…

Why don't you just admit that this year's police fireworks display was not as well choreographed as planned.

On Monday America turns 80! Or something. I never paid attention in History class. Didn't seem worth listening to.

This, on the other hand, is WORTH LISTENING TO.

If American History was just a semester long evaluation of this performance of The Star Spangled Banner, I would reenroll in high school to take that shit again. Also, my high school had great chocolate chip cookies. So that would be a plus.
