In response to the recent Twitter campaign to make Donald Glover the next Spider-Man, Stan Lee, creator of Thor Spider-Man, said that a black Spider-Man "might be confusing to people."

It's almost as confusing as a man who has the powers of a spider.

But I get where Stan Lee is coming from.  Black people confuse me all the time.  Soul food?  What's up with that??

And it's a slippery slope.  What's next?  An Asian Superman?  A Native American Batman?  An all midget cast for the Fantastic Four?

For weeks now, "white people stole my car" has been a popular search term on Google.  As far as I can tell, it all stems from the above viral image purporting to show Google offering a racist alternative search suggestion.

The question is the old "which came first the chicken or the egg" thing.  Was this a real result that someone took an image grab of, or did someone create the above fake image leading people to try to mimic the search?

My guess would be that the original image is fake.  It wouldn't be hard to do.  Look: I even took a few minutes to whip some up of my own:
