Apparently, today is INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY!  (Writing the name of the day in all caps is absolutely necessary.)

I was skeptical at first until I discovered that this fact is included on the Caps Lock Wikipedia article… after being added earlier today… on CAPS LOCK DAY.

The Atlanta Gadgets Examiner also reported on this international holiday, and being that Examiner.com doesn't vet any of their articles, this report is about as reputable as a back-up source to a Wikipedia claim can be.

So I'm sold.

The "self-proclaimed official home page of CAPS LOCK DAY" — CapsLockDay.com — also does a convincing job of proving that this holiday is, in fact, real.

For one, they spell "INTRNATIONAL" [sic] wrong in their page title: Certainly not a sign of haste or carelessness.

Secondly, the page is thrown together in a hasty and careless manner, which has a hip, retro-cool to it that obviously required a lot of planning.

Lastly, the site's top image is of well-known INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY champion, BILLY MAYS!  (Whose perma-excitement was the emotional equivalent of always having your caps lock key on.)

So, in conclusion, if you think INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY is a scam, YOU GOTTA LEARN TO RESPECT THE CAPS LOCK, BITCHES111111.
