The Cinnamon Challenge Is Really Bad For You
This just in! According to Alvin C. Bronstein, MD, medical director for the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center:
"…teens who engage in [the cinnamon challenge] often choke and vomit, injuring their mouths, throats and lungs. Teens who unintentionally breathe the cinnamon into their lungs also risk getting pneumonia as a result."
Pneumonia! And "videos on the Internet" are to blame. (That's us, guys.) The Poison Center wants parents to talk to their teens, "explaining that what may seem like a silly game can have serious health consequences".
