Dr. Horrible at The Emmys Is Horrible
During last night's Emmy Awards, Neil Patrick Harris starred in the above skit (which I must warn you is not worth watching — it's simply there as a reference) as Dr. Horrible, a "blogger" who proclaims that TV is dead.
Oh sad irony though! Those writers on the TV tried to make fun of the Internet by making a televised parody of an Internet video. Problem is, the parody isn't funny.
With the exception of one solid laugh at the expense of the size of web videos (what a tough target!), the entire thing fell flat on its face, thus proving the point its attempting to satirize: Most television just ain't that funny anymore (Comedy Central excluded, of course! That Cartman cracks me up! He hates the Jews!)
As a victory lap for the Internet, CBS's terrible fake web video is making the rounds on the web this morning, thus proving you don't even need to watch TV to see how bad it is.
Long live the 'Net!
