I didn't know you could "cover" a YouTube video.

Here we have the legendary Numa Numa guy conducting the Michigan State marching band to the tune of the Romanian pop hit by O-Zone that he famously lip-dubbed. (It's the song sampled by T.I. in "Live Your Life.")

After seeing Numa Numa guy flail his arms without regard to tempo or time signature in the original video, I'm surprised he's able to pull off the complicated gestures required to conduct a band.

In last season's NFL playoffs, the Eagles beat the Giants in a divisional round game putting an ending to the New York team's season. Hopes were high for the Giants since they won the Superbowl in 2008. Hopes were a little bit too high for Rob.

This is what football can do to you. That’s just one more reason I don’t watch it. And people used to call me a woman.

Rob's video got posted all over sports blogs where it garnered almost 400,000 views worth of embarrassment. If you think Rob's friends are ruthless, you should see the commenters. Even other Giants fans disowned him.

This Thursday, Daniel helps Rob regain some respect.

Catch a new episode Thursday at 10pm / 9c to see Rob's full redemption. And until then, check out all of our Web Redemptions.

Fantasy-Football-Doomed

Back when I was a kid, in the early 90s, my friends and I had a fantasy baseball league.  I had the honor of being commissioner, which in those days meant a lot of work.  We had a computer, but the Internet was still in its infancy.  Each day I grabbed our daily newspaper and scoured the box scores of individual games, searching for everyone's' players and entering that information into a spreadsheet.

Why I found this fun was probably because I was an idiot.  No wonder my friends were the only people I knew who played fantasy sports back then.

With the advent of the Internet, however, has come an explosion in fantasy sports, especially fantasy football.  With all the stats being beamed direct from the moon to the web-based fantasy sports league provider of your choice, the only reason today's fantasy commissioner would pick up a newspaper is to figure out what specials the local sports bar is having.  (And if that's the case, you should tell your local sports bar to get a freakin' website.  It's 2009, for god's sakes.)

After Favre's assault of his former team last night, Week 4 of the football season is official in the books.  If you love fantasy, most of your Internet time the past month has probably consisted of you staring at your team trying to figure out what's gone right and what's gone wrong.  You're about a third of the way through your season: Time to sit down and seriously evaluate where your team stands.

If you're 4 – 0, don't worry, there's always time to screw things up.  But, if you are 0 – 4, time for a reality check.  You might still have some fight left in you, but if you see any of the 14 indicators below, I'd say your chances of a fantasy football redemption are pretty slim.

After the jump, find 14 ways to tell if your fantasy football season is already doomed… Read more »

Heck, let's make it a sports' day

High school football recaps were previously relegated to the very last page of the local sports section of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.  But in the age of the Internet, if you do something boneheaded enough, you can turn your team into a national sensation.

Watch the first couple minutes of the clip above and you'll see one of the silliest fumbles ever recorded on video: A player spikes the ball in victory, only to have it ruled a live ball, giving the other team a chance to recover for a touchdown.

At the 2:23 mark, student Tom Lacy predicts, "That was crazy.  That's gonna be on YouTube."

Who says football players are dumb?  He was dead right!  As of post time, the clip is approaching the half-million views mark on only its second day gracing the web.

Maybe your high school glory days really can live on…  But don't count on it.

Tebow! More like Te-boner!

On Wednesday, the New York Times wrote about the difficulties of being a modern college football star. With the advent of social networks and cell phone cameras, pictures of them get passed around like it's Gossip Girl. Poor college kids… with multimillion-dollar NFL contracts. If you didn't want to be stalked by paparazzi, I don't think football is the career choice for you. Tim Tebow is highlighted in the article:

Tebow said that he could not go on a date because pictures would be on the Internet in 10 minutes.

Nice try, Tebow. We all know you're a homosexual!

This fact, also from the article, officially makes athletic departments the ACORN of campus services:

Athletic departments now monitor social networking Web sites, and cellphones are collected at the door of college parties to try to keep embarrassing or illegal moments off the Internet.

What a bummer! A football player can't even binge drink and take advantage of a 17-year-old girl without camera phones getting collected first.
