Kanye Apologizes to Taylor Swift on Twitter

Posted by: Carly Hallam | September 7, 2010 at 1:00PM

Kanye took to Twitter Saturday to make a 72 tweets-long apology to Taylor Swift.

Basically, he wishes everyone would forget what happened a year ago and realize that he is a passionate human that just wants to help the world.

The apology seems heartfelt. But it's been a year! Who cares anymore? I'm not even going to make an "imma let you finish" joke because in Internet time, a year is forever. This feud is old.

The Internet has newer, better things to care about. So move on, Kanye! You're not our favorite crazy black guy anymore.

Run and tell that, homeboy!

Make It Stop, Make It Stop: Kanye Joins Twitter

Posted by: Carly Hallam | July 30, 2010 at 2:00PM

In less than two days, Kanye West has gained over 300,000 followers and composed almost 100 tweets.

I don't want to ruin the surprise but most of his tweets are self-praising and obnoxious. Although, he is taking the time to give great advice, such as:

"Make sure your accounts receivable are faster than your accounts payable"

Ahh, yes. Brilliant. Thanks, Kanye.

If you don't have Friday night plans I advise you to read his feed. It's kind of like going to a therapist, if your therapist only wants to talk about himself.

Kanye West Interruptions Need to Stop

Posted by: Chris Lesinski | September 22, 2009 at 6:00PM

Justin Timberlake stepped in front of Tina Fey and said "Imma let you finish" at the Emmys. It's a pretty good sign that a joke is dead when it gets said into the microphone on an awards show.

For the past week, the Kanye interruption has been the most popular meme on the internet. According to Know Your Meme, Google searches prove that for the past week, Kanye West has been bigger than Jesus.

Kanye > Jesus

Here's how the joke works on the web:

  1. Get a picture.
  2. Write this caption on it: "Imma let you finish, but [blank] had one of the best [category the picture fits in] of all time"
  3. Come up with something to put in the blank. It should be something clever relative to the picture, but you can literally put the least imaginative word you can think of. For instance, yours could be, "Yo apples… oranges are the best fruit of all time" — and people will actually laugh at that. For the last week, that was considered "funny."

Pretty simple, huh? Like I said, even Justin Timberlake can do it.

Here's what I'm getting at: It needs to stop. See the end of that Jesus graph up there? That's where we are. And according to my step-by-step for the joke, this could be one of the most witless formulas ever. In just one week, Kanye has become more over-quoted and annoying than Napoleon Dynamite.

Yo, internet. I'm not gonna let you finish. Stop.
