The Internet Is A Scary Place

Posted by: Carly Hallam | March 29, 2011 at 2:00PM

This video may be from 1998 but the advice given still holds true.

I know quite a few people who could have benefitted from checking with their mom or dad before getting together with someone they met online.

Everyone on PlentyofFish is tank top mustache guy.

Cat Eats With His Hands

Posted by: Carly Hallam | February 10, 2011 at 11:00AM

There isn't a whole lot going on in the world today.

But even on a boring news day?we get it, Lindsay Lohan stole a necklace? there's still a cat head with human hands eating fish to a Jay-Z song.

Why, you ask? Well, as Youtube commenter Smooshpopper2 simply put it, "This is what the internet was made for."

What Is The Internet Anyway?

Posted by: Carly Hallam | January 31, 2011 at 11:00AM

The '90s were hilarious! With their grunge music and Jim Carrey and Tamagotchis.

Even The Today Show was bad. Everyone was so naive and silly. And orange!

It's an "at" sign, Bryant Gumbel! You clueless Oompa Loompa.

Natalie Portman's Laugh Lives On

Posted by: Carly Hallam | January 20, 2011 at 5:00PM

We already know Natalie Portman's laugh at the Golden Globes was the best thing ever. But now the Internet has taken it and turned it into something glorious.

This video is sliced bread with butter.

It's a long weekend. The iPhone on Verizon. A single Ryan Reynolds.

The best made better.

My Internet Soundtrack

Posted by: Mike Pomranz | December 2, 2010 at 6:00PM

Over the holidays, I see a lot of people I don't see during other times of the year.  One of the main questions I get asked is, "What is your job like?"

Oh, you mean the job where I stare at the Internet for hours on end until it drives me absolutely crazy?

This year, instead of having a sobbing meltdown in front of these people, I figured I could let them "hear" what my job is like.  Thus, I am creating an Internet soundtrack… the songs that most represent the Internet to me.

Here's what I have come up with:

  1. "Why must I cry?" by Reh Dogg
  2. "What What (In the Butt)" by Samwell
  3. "Chocolate Rain" by Tay Zonday
  4. "Here It Goes Again" by OK Go
  5. "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" by Chip-man & the Buckwheat Boys
  6. "I'm On A Boat" by The Lonely Island feat. T-Pain
  7. "Bed Intruder Song" by Antoine Dodson & The Gregory Brothers
  8. "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley

Of course the whole thing would have to end with "Never Gonna Give You Up" because the whole CD is basically one giant troll.

What songs represent the Internet to you?  What did I forget?

If you want to recreate my soundtrack or put one together of your own, almost all of the songs above are available on Rhapsody (which is currently offering a free 14 day trial).  It would make a great Christmas gift to give someone whose holiday you're looking to ruin.

Stevie Wonderbread

Posted by: Carly Hallam | November 18, 2010 at 6:00PM

Some days Mike and I search for hours and all we find is a Dramatic Eagle. Today is one of those days. So here's Stevie Wonderbread from the blog Bread People.

Look at it. Get a quick laugh. Then go film yourself setting your friend's head on fire or something.

Just do it. The Internet is counting on you.
