Do Not Want: KaBLiNG Cables
Look, maybe I'm wrong, but these KaBLiNG Jeweled Cat5e Network Patch Cables are ridiculous.
Cables are not meant to be pretty or bedazzled or pink. They get digital information from one place to another. There is nothing pretty about that.
Electronics are supposed to be cold, complex, cerebral, even bleak. Kind of like the music of Pan Sonic. It's not supposed to be happy, frilly and sparkling like the music of Miley Cyrus.
How many network administrators and tech guys run around listening to tween party anthems? Only the sick kind! We don't want to encourage them.
And if this is serving as your child's "My First Network Cable," you're sending them the wrong message. Working with computers all day is not supposed to be fun. It's painful, finger-cramping work.
Take it from me, a guy who spends all day working on a computer. If we suddenly start introducing fun, pink cables, people who work on computers might begin to realize there is a life outside of staring down a screen. Then the true horror starts: Computer geeks wandering the Earth.
