This is why you shouldn't let Roman kids borrow your Lego Jesus.

Carly's Sports Corner

I've already expressed my interest in seeing every sports replay done using Legos. Many of you agreed with me. Little did we know that Lego soccer wouldn't be the only dumb awesome non-humans playing human sports video we'd see today.

Fish soccer, you guys! What a cool thing to come out of Japan!

The ball just sort of floats there and the fish just kind of swim and it's pretty much amazing. I have no qualms whatsoever with fish soccer.

When people speak Japanese all I hear is "bzzzz". This is exactly like watching the World Cup!

'Prince of Persia' Trailer in Legos

Posted by: Carly Hallam | April 27, 2010 at 10:00AM

A blogger over at MTV spent three weeks recreating the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time trailer using Legos.  And I've gotta say, wow, this looks so much better than the movie itself.

I have no desire to see Prince of Persia based on the actual trailer for the film. It looks confusing and silly. Plus, I already saw Clash of the Titans which fulfills my per month quota of movies with Gemma Arterton in a toga.

However, I would pay $13 to see the Lego version in theaters. I'd actually pay to see every Jake Gyllenhaal movie recreated with Legos.

Can't you just imagine those little interlocking pieces doing Brokeback Mountain? It would be so darn cute.

The Ultimate Rubik's Cube Solver

Posted by: Mike Pomranz | February 16, 2010 at 11:00AM

What do you get when the 80s meet the 80s?

You get the CubeStormer — a device made out of Legos that solves Rubik's Cubes in under 12 seconds!

Yes, both Legos and Rubik's Cubes are still popular today, but in my mind, these two things will always be associated with my childhood back in the 1980s, so combining them is totally mind-blowing!

It's like if the Ghostbusters made an appearance on the final episode of M*A*S*H, or the Miracle on Ice featured the Russian hockey team being beaten by Huey Lewis & the News!

When you take one thing from the 80s and add it to another thing from the 80s, both things always get totally better!  As opposed to when you take things from the 80s and combine them with things from other decades.

I'm glaring at you, "We Are The World" remake!  You suck!

Lego Arcade

Remember the old days when your homemade, stop-motion video projects earned you a "B-" and the scorn of your peers?

The only way to "get your video out there" was to bring a crappy VHS dub to your nerdy friend's sleepover and show it off to your schoolmates in between wondering whether sleeping on the same pullout couch as another boy made you gay.

Well guess what?  The Internet is one giant nerdy sleepover where everyone is more than happy to watch all the stop motion garbage of dorky things you've ever made.

However, figuring out your sexual orientation is still up to you (…though I hear a new website to help you with that will be complete by 2010!)
