These "literal videos" — music videos where the lyrics to a popular song have been replaced with an explanation of what is actually happening in the video — had previously not excited me too much.

However, with its already stream-of-conscious and bizarre-to-the-point-of-being-funny lyrics, Beck's "Loser" seemed like a perfect candidate for the literal treatment.

Sure enough, and somewhat oddly, by going literal, at long last the song "Loser" finally makes some sense!

Maybe this is what Beck songs have needed all along?  The original lyrics are just placeholders.  It's a trick he learned from L Ron Hubbard's ghost back in the mid-90s.
