Yesterday was Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and the Internet was buzzing over the latest creation by auto-tune icons, The Gregory Brothers.

As The Daily What stated: "The Gregory Brothers honor the great civil rights leader on his special day with an uplifting remix of his legendary 'I?ve Been to the Mountaintop' address."

Yes, what an honor: Chopping up a speech by one of the greatest orators in American history and bastardizing it with auto-tune.

Part of the MLK legacy is the power of his voice and the precision of his prosody.  Why would you want to mess with that?

This makes about as much sense as flying to England to celebrate the Fourth of July or showing your support for Earth Day by throwing a ticker-tape parade.
