This weekend, Sarah Palin announced her resignation from her position as Governor of Alaska. The media wasn't distracted by the loud fireworks and drunk people — the news spread wildly. Palin felt slighted by some of the blogosphere's speculations about her motivations and she tweeted about some of her plans to fire back in court.

The Wonkette wrote a huge blog post on Sarah Palin's 'net-threat tweet, but here are the relevant few:

Honestly, this is what Sarah Palin twatted on Saturday Night, July 4th, Independence Day, in America.

Her link goes to (of course) Scientologist nut and sub-literate weirdo Greta Van Susteren?s blog on FoxNews.com, where Greta has helpfully (?) posted seven pages of legal threats from Palin?s lawyers, although you can?t actually read beyond the first vague page of whining bullshit, because Greta/Fox can?t figure out how to operate the Internet.

But, from other websites, we gather Palin?s lawyers plan lawsuits against MSNBC, the New York Times, the Huffington Post, the Washington Post, individual bloggers in Alaska, and other such anti-Palin forces such as ?rain on your wedding day? and static cling.

If the Wonkette is seeming particularly snarky here, you're correct. They're bitter about not being invited to the lawsuit.

David Letterman made headlines earlier this week due to his spat with Sarah Palin over an insensitive joke he made involving her daughter (which daughter, we're still not clear).

Luckily, on the web, all sensitivities are out the window as demonstrated by this week's respectful commenter, TomDegan, who had this to say about Sarah Palin in the comments of an article on The Huffington Post:

Sarah Palin reminds me of a middle-aged, drug-addled heroin-addict who would prostitute her fourteen-year-old child just to get a fix.

When you don't have a national television show or an entertainment career to worry about, you can feel free to sling that vicious slander.

In case you don't pay attention to the world of politics, orthe world of entertainment, the past few days have seen a feud between late night talk show host David Letterman (who?) and Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin (where?!) over a " flawed joke" involving an improperly researched reference to a Palin daughter.

Since the incident, a small group of Sarah Palin supporters (which for some reason feels like too broad of a label for this group of kooks) has been attempting to use the power of the Internet to take down one of America's most respected comedians.  They're calling themselves FireDavidLetterman.com, a not-at-all-subtle throw to their website (which I won't do the favor of linking to), and are using that site to give people tips on things you can do to support their cause.
