YouTube's Virtual Choir

Posted by: Carly Hallam | March 23, 2010 at 5:00PM

This is composer Eric Whitacre's virtual choir he arranged from 185 amateur musicians' submitted clips. He acts as the virtual conductor in this YouTube video that represents 12 countries.

The result is very touching. Commenters have described the video as "amazing", "wonderful", and "brilliant". It's YouTube art, really.

And it serves as your daily reminder that you are not using the Internet to do anything cool. Alright, I'm going to go back to looking at pictures of babies dressed as evil dictators. You resume playing Bloons Super Monkey. We'll meet back here in an hour to make fun of Justin Bieber.

Star Wars Incest

Posted by: Carly Hallam | March 22, 2010 at 3:00PM

Nothing is sacred anymore. Not even Star Wars. Any kid with an internet connection and access to editing software can turn your favorite movie into a tale of creepy incest. It's great, isn't it? Technology really has advanced us as a culture.

Also, the look on Harrison Ford's face makes a lot more sense now. I thought it was bad acting. But it's just lighthearted comedy.

This is the Song at the End of a TV Drama

Posted by: Carly Hallam | March 16, 2010 at 1:00PM

This is hilarious. The song is so accurate that you just can't help but nod your head and laugh.

Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy, and The OC are all guilty of using a dramatic song at the end of the episode to conveniently wrap up the plot line.

I refuse to say anything negative about Friday Night Lights. Sure, FNL probably does this as well. But I've never noticed! Must've been too busy two-hand kissing my poster of Taylor Kitsch.

Trolololo Guy Needs You!

Posted by: Carly Hallam | March 15, 2010 at 3:00PM

Eduard Khil, better known as The Trolololo Guy, would like you to write your own lyrics for his web-famous song. Challenge. Of. A. Lifetime.

The first thing I thought when I saw this was that you guys are masters of renaming, captioning, and commenting! And this is the perfect task for you.

I don't know where Eduard wants you to submit your own lyrics but I want you to submit them here in the comments so we can enjoy your version of The Trolololo song.

Remember guys, we web-folk all speak the same language. And it's less exhausting and more offensive than Russian. Now get to trolololoing!

Keyboard Cat Reincarnated, Sort Of

Posted by: Carly Hallam | March 15, 2010 at 10:00AM

Charlie Schmidt's Keyboard Cat Fatso played music enjoyed by millions before passing away.

Everyone made a huge deal over Fatso. Fatso fans enjoyed her blog, wore t-shirts with her name on them, and made her Youtube videos some of the most popular of all time.

This is why Charlie Schmidt's new Keyboard Cat Bento kind of rubs me the wrong way. I want there to be just one keyboard-playing feline Internet phenomenon.

It's kind of like I how I only want there to be one Wilson brother. You know? The world needs just one semi-good looking, boyishly charming actor to come from that family.

And if Charlie Schmidt even tries to tell me there's a third Andrew Wilson-type secret brother cat who looks and sounds exactly like the other two, I will be very, very upset.

Grannies Obey Traffic Laws

Posted by: Carly Hallam | February 17, 2010 at 3:00PM

Sometimes when I'm stuck in L.A. traffic I think, damn, I wish I would have just walked. Walking would be so much faster!

Because if I had walked, I wouldn't have to be here. Behind all these cars. Waiting with everyone else.

Well, at least they're sitting. And they have the radio. And the heat.

Post It Project

Posted by: Joselyn Hughes | June 18, 2009 at 6:00PM

This is a extremely cool viral video that Bang-yao Liu made for his senior project at Savannah College of Art and Design and put up on YouTube a couple weeks ago.

Looks like he got a lot more done his senior year than I did.  Keg stands and togas, guys.  That's all I am going to say.  Keg stands and togas.  I'm lucky I even graduated.

Check out this Interview with Tosh!

Daniel recently sat down with the guys over at Asylum.com and told them what makes a great viral web video.

One option:

"Once you mash up a cat jumping into a box with somebody butchering "The Star-Spangled Banner" while having a lion f**king its long-lost love, you're in good shape. I think that's a lock. Also, emotion careening with insanity is a guaranteed hit video."

Sounds about right.  You can read the article here.  If you think your stuff makes the viral video cut, submit your stuff to Tosh.0!

Three Wolf Moon Shirt Takes Over Internet

Posted by: Joselyn Hughes | May 27, 2009 at 10:00AM

Impressive, internet trend nerds.  Your love and obsession with the three wolf moon shirt has taken over the interweb.  First you spread the word through Amazon, then your social networks, and now, viral video.

Congrats.  You killed a funny, ironic web item almost instantly.

It's dead now.  All that's left to move onto is The Wearable Towel.  Go!

…and it's ruined.
